Tom Thomson #CanadianArtist was born on this date in 1877. He was not a member of the famed #GroupOfSeven but no doubt would have been, had he not died (under somewhat mysterious circumstances) in 1917. This painting- Byng Inlet, Georgian Bay, 1914 is oil on canvas and belongs to the McMichael Gallery. #Landscape #painting #TomThomson

Heute vor 146 wurde #TomThomson geboren. Viele der Ölskizzen, die er später im Atelier als Grundlage für seine Gemälde nutzte, entstanden auf seinen Paddeltouren über abgelegene Seen in #Ontario. My absolute favourite group of artists are the Group of Seven, particularly Tom Thomson (before the group had a name), A.J. Casson & Franklin Carmichael, so I'd like to thank my wonderful neighbour who found & gave me this 1967, 10 cent stamp of Tom Thomson's "Jack Pine". The print hangs at the top of my stairs. I will be framing the stamp for my nightstand.
