RobNo.815: It only took 52 years, but in 2018 the legendarily bad 'Manos, The Hands Of Fate' got a prequel in the form of 'Manos: The Rise Of Torgo'. Charmingly, the god of primal darkness Manos is played by Jackey Neyman who played 7 year-old Debbie in the original.
Anyhow, Torgo is the product of a moonshine-fuelled tryst between hillbillies and raised on a strict diet of fried chicken. Sub-normal and reviled by the local girls, he's recruited as a caretaker by The Master after his original caretaker Vasargo betrays him. This begins the tragedy of Torgo (and his gun-toting bangtail momma).
The makers of this prequel do such a good job of emulating the style(?) of the original movie that it goes a little beyond parody. While I'm not sure what any non Manos-fans would get out of this, I had a blast.
