Not sure which longhair first had the bright idea to divert Dave Dudley's trucker-anthem "Six Days on the Road" into the hippie pantheon . . . was is #TajMahaj? Perhaps #TheFlyingBurritoBrothers? Whoever it was, thank em for doing so. It remains a great, celebratory working-class song - here's hoping someone will one day retool the lyrics for our Uber-dependent generation. #CountryJoeMcDonald waxed a bumpin' version too, but #TheYoungbloods take - what with all that dancing Marin County gtr work - gets my vote for the best.

1975 veröffentlichten #TheFlyingBurritoBrothers #FlyingAgain mit neuem Line-up nach Gram Parsons' Tod und erreichte Platz 138 der Billboard Charts – die beste Platzierung der Band bis dahin. Die Single "Building Fires" von Dan Penn, Johnny Christopher und Jim Dickinson entstand mit Soul-Keyboarder Spooner Oldham. Bei einem Auftritt im Palomino Club in L.A. standen überraschend 2500 Fans Schlange, obwohl die Band nur 50 erwartet hatte.
