Poisonous MushroomLast night I watched #TheParadiseOfThorns and I honestly can't stop thinking about it. It was raw and painful, and the cinematography was amazing.
First movie was this. I watched the first episode of #TheoryOfLove after that, and I have thoughts. I think it's the first time I'm not rooting for a couple to be together.
When Third was crying, tearing the photos and stuff he had been treasuring for years, all I could think was: yes, get over him, ASAP.
We'll see if I change my mind when I finish watching the series.
The reference to Dear Dakanda is there, explicitly, and in the way Third acts regarding his crush.

Someone in the mexican side of BL fandom is organizing a Theory of Love rewatch with an interesting twist. They're watching all the movies referenced in the episode titles before watching each corresponding episode. They're doing one episode a week.
I haven't seen the drama yet, but I love this kind of deep-dive exercise. It reminds me of when I watched Moonlight Chicken and then had to check out Comrades: Almost a Love Story (甜蜜蜜, 1996). I just... Like that kind of activity. When I was a kid, I used to enjoy reading the Encyclopedia we had at home and loved to follow the "Cfr." and "See [insert term]"
I'm on my lunch break and couldn't resist starting Dear Dakanda (เพื่อนสนิท, 2005). I'll watch the actual episode later.
Maybe it would have been a good idea towatch Theory of Love first, but... well... 🤷🏽♂️

Last night I watched How to make millions before grandma dies and I really liked it, but I also ugly cried a little bit. Maybe it wasn't that bad that I couldn't watch it in the theater when they showed it here because I wouldn't have felt comfortable crying the way I did yesterday 😅
Also... I really liked Billkin's acting here.
Elisheva Meira ✡︎ 🌈Maybe I'm reading into it, but I'm getting something I didn't know to expect from my quest to watch every Nang/Mae Nak film I can access -- how many of them give significant nods to the 1999 Nang Nak with Sine Inthira, and through that something of an understanding of how much that version, and Nak's story, means to Thais.
3 hour film, that's a bit long, can take a break or two. No, it's exactly how long it needs to be, with that refuses to be rushed pace I love in Thai movies and intertwining layers which aren't necessarily complicated in plot but rich in emotions.
Finally got around to Love of Siam, from 2007. Highly recommended.
