Infrastructures. And breakage. Change many things at once to make things more interesting. Bonus points for breaking things all along lines that have been proven to be stable for ages. The known unknowns, the unknown unknowns and all the mess that is even worse.

Weirdnesses of the day: Noticing ones own former company and certain persons promoted to certain positions, wondering whether anyone else has left in the meantime. And learning, being part of a small product developer, to be competed by Microsoft with an open-source project run as a managed service on Azure and it couldn't feel more confusing than that.

🔌Onward and in and out of calls, wondering where time went again. Flowcharts and organizational structures centered around technology. That kind of growth to observe in years not weeks. And the cleanup that gets more difficult with every step taken.

10pm and on and the sounds slowly calming. Infrastructure thrown away, reconsidered, set up again. Bits still not completely aligned. Meditating complexity and technical advances and being stuck mentally in a more comfortable past and wondering where to draw the line between what's meaningful and affordable and merely interesting to mess with. Indifferent to all this, constellations show up behind the neighbourhood roofs, there are stars on a sky devoid of dense clouds tonight and a shapeless late spring day is drifting into celestial void again. Have a quiet night wherever you are.

8am and on. Still trying to come up with a better question to make sense of the models answers. Still unsure. And once again feeling unsettling traces of mismatch between professional attitude and personal mindset. Breathing into the tea mug. And waiting for mental dust to settle.

4pm and on. Lost and found, found and lost again. Contenance on a slippery slope, way too much input, way too little capacity to cope with all of it. Also: Another shiny new service has been stripped of its crown and demystified sooner than expected but still it's here to stay now. More clouds. Many different kinds of.

(Stumbling across random websites of ambitious pieces of code, trying to compete with proprietary offerings to date: "Sure other tools are more mature and feature complete but where's the fun in that?" And while this isn't generally bad, it speaks volumes about priorities and motivations to do things. And maybe about privileges and the ability to choose, too.)

7am and on. Performance degradations and system updates. Not completely sure where to start. Like, entering unknown perimeters, looking around but there's fog everywhere. Low-level signals, too much noise, all haystack again and maybe not even a single needle.

In between things and offices. The insight of complex issues suddenly fading by the simple act of communication and talking through things; known and still too seldom to be really familiar with. Too, the effect of things slowly derailing on input provided by people with a lot of good intention, a strong focus on their own golden hammers and limited ability to relate their personal needs to the needs of others. Not sure how to get back to the first part here.
