We are excited that our Tausend typeface family – designed by @koeberlin and Gabriel Richter) is among this year’s finalists for the prestigious TDC Awards. For the first time, the Type-High Award will be divided into Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Merit categories (the awards ceremony is in July). We’ll have to wait and see which one we win. In any case, we’re already very happy about the recognition.
According to ‘Dunbar’s number’, people can maintain stable and meaningful relationships with 150 others (including pets?). I’ve just finished reviewing well over 150 entries for the #tdc72 competition. Phew.
At least two handfuls of fonts that I used to hang out with must have vanished from my memory. I wonder who they are.

Any competition is a game of chance to some extent, but one can strive for objectivity. These twelve TDC72 Type Design judges provide such a wide range of perspectives on so many aspects of type design.
