However if one switches off the sun (lightbulb) the T-bat switches off (and T-beam switches off) - no lights on at all - the 5 V green output light is off on T-bat - i.e. the T-has not charged the battery significantly - and when one switches the sun back on the T-bat switches back on with green light on BUT the T-beam does not switch on immediately.... further testing of light cycling on & off is required. So has not been shown to switch node back on always. #tbeam #meshtastic #solarnode #tbat

#tbeam does not restart in the above setup.

I have instead tested using a #lilygo T-bat #Tbat , with a battery, connected to a #tbeam wherein the #team does not have a battery in it. In that setup the T-beam node appears to switch itself on in response to the T-bat being sufficiently charged. This behaviour is repeatable. #meshtastic #solarnode The test was done using a lightbulb as shown in the picture because the sun was not available...

Concerning the above: After 3 days, during which there was moderate sunshine, the T-bat is flat (the green light is off). The tbeam is at about 50% and still working... so now waiting for tbeam to drain flat on its own battery.... #tbat #tbeam #SolarNode #meshtastic
Test: #lilygo #tbeam + #tbat + solar panel. 2 batteries: 1 in T-bat & 1 in T-beam. How long will this run for when sunshine is sparse? Will having 2 batteries help it last longer (panel output directly into T-beam lasted only 1 week). Why test? Can one use this as place & forget #solarnode? When T-beam battery runs out it needs a manual restart (bad for place & forget), but it can restart if gets clean 5V USB. Will T-bat solar-charge & make flat T-beam restart after it shut down? #meshtastic
No. After a day of sunshine the T-bat is still charging and not fully charged (no green 'done' light) and the T-beam is empty 3% all the while. The setup Solar Panel -> T-bat -> T-beam does not seem to work. Perhaps when the T-bat stops charging from the sun, then it will charge the T-beam but I fear not. The drain of the T-beam is too great. #meshtastic #tbeam #tbat #SolarNode Is it not logical that same spec batteries cannot charge each other?
Now 09:30 CET the sun is shining the T-bat shows it is charging (see pic) but the T-beam plugged into it is at 70% battery when unplugged briefly from T-bat and not sure the T-beam is charging too yet. #meshtastic #tbeam #tbat #lilygo
#meshtastic Test over 1 day shows that #lilygo T-beam with T-bat and solar pannel charges T-beam 18650 3450 mAh battery to 100% when darkness falls. The 18650 3450 mAh battery of the T-bat is of unknown charge but shows 'done' which in my book means full. #tbeam #tbat #solarnode #node #solar #lora Parts list is in another post to the higher post.
#meshtastic Anyone have a solar panel charging a
18650 battery via a #lilygo T-bat , and the T-bat powering a lilygo T-beam, which also has and charges its own 18650 battery? Does this setup make sense to increase battery capacity available to T-beam when there is no sun? #tbat #tbeam #Chargers #charging #lora #solarcharging
