Dope Old PersonOne last #TateGallery picture. But no blurb. It's by #Constable who had his own room alongside all the #Turner paintings.
It's also near #Brighton and was part of a set. We have been joking about Constable all week, from the info we gained. He did one large piece, it took him 13 years to get it right. He painted a local scene, turned the church into a windmill, then back again ( you can see the oil paint layers). He covered everything in white paint when he wasn't happy with it.

Very impressive in real life, less so here.
I'm not a fan of modern day Halloween, however may peace come to all disturbed souls, just like this boat sailing through the snow storm and finally finding a safe harbour.
Starting Wednesday with a picture I particularly liked from #TateGallery
I liked the limited colour range. It also is nostalgic of its time, and it's by a female painter. Does that matter? Yes, at the time it did. This was another point the gallery interpretation boards were making - artists used to be all male...
I'm aware #rkive doesn't give you all these thoughts, just throws some art at you & runs...
