I 'finished' my current manuscript last night and started to get the book ready for publication.

But it isn't ready yet: there's still proofing to do, there will be revisions and I haven't created the cover art yet.

The book will be:

Tammy: All At Sea
#tammyverse book 17

Out soon

I spent only an hour on my current manuscript last night but have found myself pushing my main character into a direction they haven't been before (only 16 prior books to compare this with!)

I'm going to see where this goes, the book is at the 3/4 stage.

Writing takes me off into some random places. Right now I'm writing a same sex wedding scene, actually the whole day from the brides' point of view. Oh, and it's set in Scotland .... which I'm not! I have no idea where the story is going to take me next.

As things stand, the current manuscript will become Book 15 in the #Tammyverse series. Some of the characters I have already included have a complex history and whilst my records can pinpoint when a story event happened, I don't necessarily have a full history of the minor characters available.

I'm resurrecting one such character and it's been a few books since she last appeared. Thankfully that's going to be in Book 16.

I was writing my next novel, the fifth in the Unaccounted Gains series, when I got stuck.

Three weeks ago I switched track and started a 20k short story on another of my series. Some days I managed 3k words, some 500words, or less. But the 20k words was reached a few days back and has been proofed/edited (repeat) a ton of times.

I'm almost ready to publish but holding back for a few days.

Anyway, the book was at 15k words after a few months, but perhaps I'll be able to return to it tomorrow? It would be great to add 20k words to that in the next few weeks?
