I see Isabel Oakeshott is saying nurses do a lot of "standing around drinking tea". When I joined the NHS management training scheme we spent the first 3 months shadowing people in every part of the hospital, from doing portering, helping in the laundry, to observing nursing and witnessing surgery. Every politician and commentator could do with that before opining. No, nurses are not perfect, none of us are, and I bet she has the odd cup of tea.
