We went to the Shoemakers Museum in Street recently.

♡ Good for kids with some hands-on stuff and big fossils to enjoy

♡ A fair amount of info on women in Street, useful for my book research

♡ Also info on African Americans who visited Street and Black people's contributions to shoemaking

So even though we're not shoe fanatics, there was plenty on offer! And you pay once and return as many times as you want in the year.

Yesterday was the birth anniversary of Ellen Impey (7th June 1844), sister of Catherine Impey. Ellen supported Catherine in her anti-racism work. They lived together in Street.
