Yesterday a couple of council contractors with a wood chipper were round my way lopping off dead branches.
I guess that's happening everywhere in the UK this week, after #StormPia
Sometimes, I take a walk after stormy weather to look for fallen branches and trees in the local park.

A friend's @johnfranklinwalker happy doggie is helping inspect the damage to broadband/landline cables this morning.
(Couldn't help but notice the lovely fungi on the tree 💚)

The #Maeslant storm surge barrier that guards the Port of Rotterdam has closed in anger for the first time ever due to #StormPia. Very cool.
The doors are 200 m long each, and the struts are the size of the Eiffel tower. To prevent people with ulterior motives failing to close it when necessary, it decides on its own when to close, so when it closes shit's real.

Here’s a different graph showing how the storm surge from #StormPia affected the recent high and low tides.
No noises so looks like the wind has died down finally, still cold and raining.
