I have always regarded resistance-to-change as one of the tell-tale signs of conservatism.

However, having been a member of a particular committee for about 7 years, now seeing new members loudly expressing discontent and trying to rip-up multiple established systems, I find myself wondering how this shows appreciation for the history of people's decisions that has got the society to the state it currently enjoys.
