I have decided to use this blog as the centre of my dark empire, the gloomy universe I call home, sorry, bit melodramatic wasn’t it, let’s start again shall we…

I have decided to use this blog site as my personal website, so there will probably be additions as time goes by to turn it into an effective website, it will evolve into something a bit more than simply a blog (probably, I hope ??) and it will become the central point for all of my online sites.

I have quite a number of online presences which can be simply accessed via the “My Links” button on the menu at top of the page or from the social icons at the bottom of the page. But just so you know I have a Facebook page, Instagram, Threads, Mastodon, Tumblr, X or Twitter as it was and YouTube, these are all visited fairly often, some are used more than others obviously.

I intend this website / blog to become my main home online, the sort of central hub for all of my presences, it is linked to my Facebook page, Mastodon and Tumblr for cross posting automatically so that makes things simple, as well as sending my normal blog posts to these sites automatically the theme I use here on WordPress has a “Status” post format so I can post status updates on my blog and I’m also sending this status update to all three of these platforms without having to do each manually, spiffing.

Oh also this blog is now federated, if you are on the Fediverse in one of it’s many forms, I use Mastodon for instance, then by simply searching on your platform for “@passivevoyeur.uk@passivevoyeur.uk” you will find my blog and should be able to follow it. You will then see my latest posts or status updates from this blog. Or you could just follow my Mastodon of course 😁 (if you have issues with subscribing to my blog on the Fediverse or it simply doesn’t work on the platform you’re on then please let me know in the comments for this post, thank you).

So as well as normal style blog posts you can expect to see simple status updates (I’ve actually already started doing this) plus perhaps other things more website related, not sure what they would be but who knows. In fact I intend to use this site for pretty much anything that seems suitable at the time.

So that’s it, this is now my website, my main home on the web as well as still being my blog.

Haven't "moved" my followers from mastodon.cloud to megadon.net yet. Pretty sure that's irreversible. Maybe tomorrow. Taking it slow. I will start to actively use megadon.net after this...

I've just noticed that in addition to my relatively obvious user RSS feed on Goodreads, there's a separate hidden feed of just my reading status updates. It's of the form https://www.goodreads.com/user_status/list/#######-user-name?format=rss where #######-user-name is the typical user number and name combination at one's profile page.
