Well that was a good episode. It was cool to revisite the old movie. It didn't need to be a cameo, but it led to interesting discussion. The downside of this is that it somewhat make Star Trek about its legendary character, which I think is unfortunate.

One of the good thing about TNG, D9 and Voyager is that they happen in the same time period. (Yes TNG is solo for 7 seasons, but the rest follow soon after)

It makes you feel that Picard wasn't the only great captain of his time, by opposition to TOS when even when Sulu become a captain, he is still a tier bellow Kirk. ( I mean the way he is presented )
