And lastly, not least because I forgot them... The Isekai trifecta: Re0, Slime, and Vending Machine are all proceeding as expected. Not much more to say about them than that. Re0 had a great couple of eps recently. Any time Ram and Betty get screentime is good time though. Vending Machine is... doing Vending Machine things. Hulemy still cute. Slime is still doing its thing too, slow burn, hard to tell what the payoff will be yet, but this is the way of Slime.

Mid(ish) Season update: Part Deux!
Alright for the rest of the update...
Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi turned out as expected. Neo a cute. That is all.
I can report I have...gotten used to...the odd animation in the new Fist of the North Star. In fact, it's grown on me. I never watched the original, but I feel like this style is.. kind of fitting. Gives it a grindhouse feel which just seems right.
Ghost Concert: Missing songs has not really brought the GAY that I was expecting. There is not much to set this show apart from the rest. It's not bad per se but it's not doing new things, and not doing old things in a superior or particularly interesting way. This show is very mid, as they say.
Meanwhile, Kamiina Botan is DEFINITELY doing old things in superior AND particularly interesting ways AND is bringing enough GAY for a whole season. Oh, and doing it with an adult cast, too, because that's a selling point in the unending ocean of shows with teen and pre-teen casts. (part of Kaiju No. 8's appeal was its protag being a middle-aged DORK)
Witch Hat Atelier has got that Unlimited Budget Works thing going on. Just see some of @BongoMcnulty 's posts on the matter.
Eren the Southpaw finally made it out of its High School slump, but the titular Eren hasn't been seen very much lately either. Looks like this may change soon though. Fingers crossed.
I've kept watching Petals of Reincarnation, but it's really very average and nothing special. It COULD have earned some props with a recent twist in which one character is revealed as a traitor... except it was a newly-introduced character and so there was zero investment there.
The similarly-shonen Yomi no Tsugai/Daemons of the Shadow Realm is doing better, with what looks to be a more complex and thought-out story slowly unfolding.
MAO has at least held my interest. Nanoka is as adaptable as Sakura from Rin-ne if not quite as unflappable.
Akane-Banashii is a fun time. Rakugo is always a fun time. The show is rather predictable, but gets by on its primarily adult cast aside from Akane and its humor.

Mid(ish) Season update! Part 1!
Can I just talk about My Ribdiculous Reincarnation for a few minutes? Let me just dedicate this post to it. Its score on Anime Planet shows a lot of people bounced off of it, likely, IMO, without seeing the brilliance of it. It is a very weird, very Japanese, very funny send-up of the Isekai genre.. and of itself. I mean just look at it! LOOK AT IT! THEY DO CLAYMATION! THEY DO STOP-MOTION! THEY HAVE LIVE ACTION SEGMENTS COMPLETE WITH KUROKO WANDERING IN FRAME! THEY BUILT A FREAKING POP-UP BOOK FOR ONE EPISODE! Absolutely fantastic.
This show is completely ridiculous, revels in absurdity, and I am here for it. I suppose people expected something more along the lines of Konosuba...but Konosuba has, over time, become the monster it originally poked fun at. Ribdiculous hasn't. I thought for sure it would overstay its welcome and get stale, but so far--no, no way. It just keeps finding new ways to be, well, ribdiculous.
And of course it doesn't hurt the Goddess is cute af.

G-NitroThe Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King Episode 1 Impressions
When I started the episode, I couldn't figure out if I like the art style of this one or not lol. It quickly grew on me thought, and the fight scene, albeit brief, was cool.
When the big reveal happens, I love Sera's reactions lol. The deadpan servant is great too. The flashback/dream was a bit drawn out though. That ending LMAO
Looking forward to seeing another episode or 2 to see how this one starts to play out.

The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch Episode 1 Impressions
2nd witch anime for me this season, with this seemingly the complete opposite of what I watched with Witch Hat Atelier. Slapstick comedy is strong with this one.
The library sequence had me chuckling. Did I just watch our MC kiss a cat on the butthole? This might be a first for me LMAO.
If this show continues to be strong with the slapstick while also forming an interesting narrative, I can see myself having fun with this one. I just hope it doesn't lose the dumb humor.

Yowayowa Sensei Episode 1 Impressions
Hiwamura is adorable, I can say that much. That's about the most I can say positive about this first episode.
As someone who likes ecchi humor, this one is falling flat most of the time. I keep hoping I'll laugh out loud, but it's just not happening.
Yeah, I'm bailing on this one. Not bothering with a second episode.

Forget cute girls doing cute things, this is quirky girls doing quirky things lol. The show looks about normal for what I expect of this type of anime.
This first episode was mostly getting the viewer acclimated to the cast, so not much happened overall. I like the comedy though.
It seems like something up my alley, but I'll have to give it some more episodes to see if I keep up or binge later.
