Reportedly (source needed?), there would be a 3m path, possibly decreasing to 2m under bridges, alongside the tram line on the Roseburn corridor. (This would be rather less than the desirable 4m width, given the high cycling and walking usage.) #SpokesMtg

(Surely extra width could be gained by excavating out part of the cutting, and by burrowing a separate “tunnel” for the cycleway under the overbridges?)

[an aside, while at #SpokesMtg:

It’s always slightly annoying how so many speakers at public meetings/conferences don’t format their slides in a #BiggerFont #LessText so as to be actually readable by that part of the audience 20m+ away… 14pt might as well be illegible #SmallPrint. Text needs to be •at least• 24 – 36pt. #accessibility ]

The #SpokesMtg about the planned #Edinburgh #trams line to Granton is about to start.

Should the route use the former railway corridor via Roseburn, where it may be harder to retain room for the #cycleway and keep some of the greenery, or a much slower on-road route via Dean Bridge?

The opening date for the #TramstoNewhaven extension is to be announced tomorrow (25 May), according to Edinburgh’s Transport Convenor, Cllr Scott Arthur. 👍 #SpokesMtg
