Hi @SocialCoop, thanks for accepting my application. #introduction: I'm really happy to be joining and taking my first step into the cooperative movement. I'm interested in #noncapitalist ways of living, working and relating to others, including coops, #UBI, the #solarpunk philosphy, #abundance and public #commons, including #opensource projects and #openscience. I'm also intersted in #neurocosmopolitanism and #nonviolence.

I work with data and love to code. At the moment I'm often riding the #trams around Manchester, #swimming in my local pool or climbing at my local #bouldering center.

Amazing news: consultation for design of accessible tram stops for Sydney Rd Brunswick announced! Great victory for the community, including Christian who spoke at April Critical Mass ride, and Revitalize Sydney Road campaign, after 20 or so years

Let's hope the Victorian government continues fulfilling its responsibilities to accessible transport--- Chapel St also needs trams that can be used by everyone.

Sorry facebook link is all I have: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18yyHhcyUE/

Up at the National Tramway Museum at Crich today and a trip on London County Council tram 106, new in 1903:

Seeing the trams in Okayama makes you feel a bit like a time traveler, and the stations are somewhat... how should I say: cramped :)

I grew up on buses in #Canberra, and though I was away for ~30 years, even with all its changes, I took to #PublicTransport again like a duck to water.

My wife, OTOH, grew up in Sydney and went straight from foot to car as soon as she was old enough. She’s in a wheelchair now, but despite all assurances of #accessibility, getting her onto #buses and #trams is an uphill—and ongoing—struggle. It just wasn’t part of her upbringing, and she hesitates to take it up. https://aus.social/@jessta/116513958083369947

A kid asking on /r/melbourne about how to use a train station. I wonder how many people don't use public transport simply because nobody showed them how to use it as a kid, then they started driving, and they never felt comfortable asking later in life. https://www.reddit.com/r/melbourne/comments/1t342pr/how_do_i_use_a_train_station/

Today I learnt that the middle of Church St in Parramatta is now apparently a location for wedding photos. Just watch out for the light rail.

The bride's dress does look beautiful though...

Odd thing I saw the other day in the Bourke Street Mall - a Ghan tram:

Apologies about the light reflection, these were taken through the window of a ferry.

Here are the under construction pylons for the Parramatta to Wentworth Point (and eventually Olympic Park) light rail extension.
