De heilige graal, als hart van een slimme fabriek, is een digital control tower. Een alwetend centrum. Zo ver is het echter nog lang niet. Het begint met visibility, alle activiteiten zichtbaar maken. Pas daarna komt de stap naar beslissingsondersteuning. En nog veel later: de realisatie van een fabriek die deels autonoom handelt. Zorg echter eerst maar eens voor een solide basis. Daarnaast heb je als top- en/of tussenlaag flexibele (low-code) software nodig, waarmee je (verbindende) bouwstenen kunt toevoegen.
