Anyone who has lived under or worked with a narcissist will recognize this behavior:
"There's more chaos at Tesla this week. The Information reports that last night, the company's erratic CEO Elon Musk emailed workers with news that he has dismissed a key pair of executives—one responsible for the Supercharger network and the other head of new vehicle development.
The electric car maker posted its quarterly results last week, and they paint a poor picture, with shrinking sales and plummeting profit margins. While Tesla once had a strong first-mover advantage and benefited from Musk's marketing savvy, the company has frequently ignored the many hard-learned lessons of the auto industry." - https://arstechnica.com/cars/2024/04/tesla-to-lay-off-everyone-working-on-superchargers-new-vehicles/
I like that ars technica called him "Tesla's erratic CEO". Yowch!
From my experience, the more a narcissist feels that they're "losing" (in whatever matters to them), the more "scorched earth" their actions become. They can cause massive destruction & chaos on their "way down".
It's like a caged animal who will lash out in any & every direction as it feels the walls of the cage closing in.
All of the narcissist's behavior starts to go towards the avoidance of consequences. And no one is as shameless as a narcissist. There is no low for them.. they will throw anyone under the bus to save themselves.
In other words, my condolences to Tesla's employees.
