A serious question for all shaving geeks out there.

I have a mohawk haircut with shaved head from both sides. I want to buy an electric shaver for easier shaving process (was using 1mm hair clippers till now). The main problem is that I want to do the shaving myself. I have visited several barbers for the job, but was disappointed and lost my trust in them to do the shaving in straight and precise lines. How difficult can it be?? I found later they managed to shave into my precious mohawk! Doh.

Anyway, is there an electric shaver that can shave ONLY the short hairs, but not long ones? That I can just press my mohawk with one hand to the side and shave the short hairs and do not worry that long hair is shaved too?
