I feel like in both cases, the aliens were trying to communicate some concept. The first time the Prophets were giving Sisko a idea of oppression so he'd understand what the Bajorans went thru, but also the alien's non-linear perception as Benny conceives (almost unwillingly/uncontrollably) of the DS9 story.
Of course, the Pah'Wraiths were just using the vision to try to distract #Sisko, but there's temptation there too.
Well... it's a heckuva set of TNG era episodes to end #AllStarTrek on for the long weekend. 👍
