Just showed my tat to my mom and had the talk. I didn’t tell her ahead of time because I didn’t want her trying to talk me out of it, and I didn’t want to bring any potential of her negative energy with me. She looked shocked when she first saw it, but immediately corrected herself (she is really trying!) She listened very well while I explained my reasons. She still feels negatively about tats in general and I get the impression she doesn’t have any control over that, but she said she’s glad it will help me in my struggles. #tattoo #SemicolonTattoo

Reposting the tattoo so I could talk about the experience. It surprisingly didn’t hurt much at all except a few times. It hasn’t hurt much since and doesn’t hurt now, just like a mild sunburn. The artist made some changes to what I’d requested but for good reasons that I ultimately agreed with. (Mainly around making the birds bigger, etc.) My friend is in from Seattle and we’re staying at a fancy hotel and they’re treating me to luxuries. It’s a whole ritual hopefully marking the end of an era for me and being a new. #tattoo #SemicolonTattoo
