He was indirectly responsible for the Comic Book Authority Code. You might not think he was a popular figure in the comic book world, but this book offers a nuanced portrait of him. A stubborn man who fought fiercely for what he believed was right and, in the process, lost sight of the truth. He is best known for his crusade against comics, but because of that, it's been forgotten that he also played a significant role in the civil rights movement. Beautiful artwork by Powell. Interesting book.
