Felling 9 holly trunks (~25 ft) and selectively salvaging the best sections for lumber. Holly is dense, fine-grained, and beautifully pale when fresh—too good to waste. Branches will be chipped; straight logs are to be milled on a Timberking 1220 band saw for small woodworking projects.

Sad job today, felling two blue spruces (Colorado spruces) in front of the house, because their roots are damaging the foundation and their branches touching the roof.
This is what happens when you plant cute little trees without thinking about how big they will get.
These do not require a permit because they're not on the list of protected species. Not native and immigrants always have fewer rights 
Very close to the house, but an easy job as it was leaning in the right direction for once. Lots of work debranching!
I got a straight log for sawmilling later, a lot of xmas decorations to give away and a tiny bit of firewood, but not for the house due to high resin content.
