Samurai Festival - Teruhime Princess Matsuri 照姫まつり Teruhime Matsuri is a spring festival at Shakujii Koen Park where they remember the history of the early Sengoku Era. Shakujii Koen is the site of Shakujii Castle which belonged to the Toshima clan. In 1477 the castle was attacked by Ota Dokan, a legendary warrior of the time. Princess Teru or Teruhime daughter of the last lord of the Toshima clan is said to have drowned herself in the pond behind the castle when it fell. Ota Dokan built a mound for her which still stands today. Some say her ghosts haunts
