I started reading Arcade the Comics Revue issue no. 1 from 1975 edited by Bill Griffith and Art Spiegelman and likely known for contributions from Robert Crumb. On the final page is Victor Moscoso's “Mystic Comics Part 1” which has a character that I found immediately familiar. I tried to find some citation that this was an inspiration for Benny the Cab from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, but had no luck. Don't ask me to explain what you're seeing. The three-panel toon is quite abstract, and the speech bubbles appear to be deliberately blank.

I still really like the Roger Rabbit movie. (And it's nice that the rights belong to the original author again)

Like, in general, it's a great movie. One of the things that I really love is the scene in which it's revealed that, despite all his painful memories and grudge against Toons, Eddie Valiant still kept his Toon revolver and bullets.

It's a really nice emotional thing AND it's also just really fun to have a human interact with Toon items like that.

Damn, I'd love to play in a movie with Toons. 😊

Great movie, I gotta rewatch it again.
