Vorst in de Grond 2026: Castillo, Waterschade, Robber, Krime & Homunculoid

Zolang er een ongekozen monarch op het pluche zit, is Minor Operation Bookings genoodzaakt om Vorst In De Grond Fest te organiseren. Want waar moeten alle koningshaters anders heen om zich het licht zo hard uit de ogen te feesten dat ze de hele Koningsdag-onzin gewoon doorslapen? Dus ook dit jaar trekken we op Koningsnacht, zondag 26 april, weer een blik open met boze punk-, Oi!-, hardcore- en powerviolence-herrie.

Castillo

All the way from Los Angeles komt Castillo met rauwe maar melodieuze Oi! die met één beuk alle pakjes boter indeukt. Wat begon als een covid-project met twee leden is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een goed geoliede oorlogsmachine.

Waterschade

Waterschade is ondertussen niet meer weg te denken uit het Nederlandse punklandschap. Hun woede over een maatschappij gebouwd op uitbuiting, kapitalisme, racisme en patriarchaat gieten ze in retestrakke songs en een vlammende liveshow.

Robber

Is het hardcore? Is het Oi!? Is het rock ’n’ roll? Wat de fuck maakt het uit, als het maar hard is. Met leden van Traumatizer, OUST en Frontsector weet je in ieder geval wat voor (vega) vlees je in de kuip hebt. Dat wordt een kwaliteitshap.

Krime

Dit Nijmeegse collectief met leden uit Citizens Patrol en Bratpack serveert pakkende hardcorepunk met melodieuze hooks en een woest politieke lading. Vooral bekend van hun hit: Stadioncrust.

Homunculoid

De avond wordt geopend door dit jonge powerviolence-trio dat in korte tijd een reputatie heeft opgebouwd voor herrie maken op de gekste plekken. Zo speelden ze onlangs nog op het toilet bij Flinty’s. Bereid je voor om de stront uit je oren geblazen te krijgen.

Choose Love

De punkrock-fundraisers van Minor Operation Donations zijn er ook weer bij om geld op te halen voor Choose Love, de internationale organisatie die humanitaire hulp biedt aan vluchtelingen. Ze verkopen gedoneerde subculturele parafernalia; jij bepaalt zelf wat je betaalt en iedere cent gaat naar het goede doel. Sinds hun oprichting in 2018 haalden ze al meer dan €50.000 op. PUNK = LIEFDE.

Hailing from Stevenage, England, the first new town to be declared under the 1946 New Town Act, Bad Breeding are an anarcho-punk four-piece delivering punishing blasts of ferocious noise that draws influence from the original British pioneers of the scene; Crass, Rudimentary Peni, and Flux of Pink Indians. More than perhaps any other contemporary punk band, Bad Breeding seem preternaturally able to make music that sounds the way it feels to live in today’s world. After almost a decade’s worth of work, they offer no easy diatribes about the failures of neoliberalism, the war on the working class, and the unfolding horror of climate change. Instead, in complex layers of sound and structure, Bad Breeding projects a viable path forward: envisioning a future unfettered by the state and finding power in community, solidarity and worker-led organisation.

KLONNS (new wave of Japanese hardcore, JP)

Klonns is a Japanese hardcore punk band from Tokyo. Formed in 2016, the band advocates 'NEW WAVE OF JAPANESE HARDCORE'. Klonns are one of the most promising and active bands coming out of Japan now, combining the explosive hardcore sound of the undisputed classics with the kind of raw emotions that make things as shocking and exciting as pissing on an electric fence.

ZENOCIDE (anarcho doom punk, JP)

Formed in 2004, Tokyo’s Zenocide started as an authentic UK crust style band, while incorporating elements of anarcho punk, post-punk, black metal, industrial noise, and doom/sludge, to create their own unique dark soundscape. In 2009, they released their first album through HG Fact, and in 2024, they released their second album, ‘Ashes Asylum’, and toured Japan with Poison Ruïn (US) and Bad Breeding (UK).

With a lineup change and the addition of drummer Kyawa, they have now developed a more solid, aggressive, and dark unique style.
