Michael LabowiczIf its not there already, cars need an open standard to remotely control and monitor functions. That way other apps could be built to replace features lost when the proprietary apps are retired. For example, I can still use bluetooth in my 10+ year old car to stream audio to the vehicle's speakers from any smartphone.
