I love how Savage and colleagues took this innovation and ran with it! My favorite part of innovating is seeing how people take the innovation and make it bigger and better than I ever imagined! 💕

🥳 PCI RR is celebrating the first Stage 2 output (of 27!) for the Savage et al. mega-programmatic study on cross-cultural differences between song and speech (a programmatic registered report is one where authors submit one Stage 1 and the work results in more than one Stage 2)

📣 This is also one of the first (if not the first) second generation #RegisteredReport: it replicates a previous registered report (which is also at PCI RR 😃)

Since there are many potential associations between 5 personality traits and 2 outcomes (in 2 possible directions), we found the #RegisteredReport approach in @pcirr useful for restricting hypothesis and analysis #DegreesOfFreedom. We received expert #PeerReview input that led us to adjust and improve our research plan. (3/3)

We often assume that perceived risk determines compliance with protective measures. But both factors may vary over time, and what happens at one point may influence what happens at a later point. In a registered report that reached stage 2 approval this week (https://osf.io/jehm7), our team led by @sebastianbjorkheim.bsky.social examined this dynamic and bi-directional relationship over four time-points during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway.

A robust multiverse analysis did not show consistent relationships between risk and compliance at given measurement points, nor that risk at one time predicted future compliance, or vice versa.
