To be fair, #RecycleBC has been playing at this sort of thing with their “other flexible plastics” program for years.

While they’ve been partnering with companies ‘doing research’ into recovery of these materials, they’ve also been diverting much of it into ‘engineered fuel’ for companies like LaFarge.

Burning waste is a false solution because materials are destroyed, not recovered. And the health detriments are well documented.
