If you want to avoid #ads and the #cancer Youtube has become, I, obsiously, recommend #peertube.

However, if you want to keep using Youtube, but ad-free and with it playing while having your screen locked, the easiest thing to do is:

1. For phones, download Vivaldi Browser -> tap on logo -> settings -> tracker and ad blocking -> enable "block tracker and ads"

2. For PC: download Librewolf browser -> enjoy, it comes with Ublock Origin included
