Today in lacemaking class others noted as I had, the real fun of this lace is in the contrast of the different ground areas (the flower was a crowd-pleaser though as well again.)

Today I got almost 1,5 cm of this 18th century Rauma bobbin lace done. It took four hours.

Editing an 18th/19th century lace due to reasons, which is a little scary, also exciting. I love that we're doing this with pencils, scissors and glue, rather than a computer program. Full on secoilu!

For the past year I’ve been working on pieces of Rauma City Museum archive Annaberg 9090 for an 18th century linen shirt. I’m finishing my second lace cuff today, then taking a break from Annaberg 9090 in favour of another historical Finnish bobbin lace design.
