The Old Town Hall in Hattingen (on the Ruhr, Ennepe-Ruhr district/North Rhine-Westphalia) had been a market hall for meat sales since around 1420. In 1576, two storeys were added to the building in half-timbered construction and it was used as a town hall. There were prison cells to the right and left of the passageway.
