Statue of the Osterspai “Longneck” in Osterspai (Rhein-Lahn district, Rhineland-Palatinate). ‘Osterspai Longneck’ became a nickname for the inhabitants of Osterspai as early as the beginning of the 19th century.

Liebeneck Castle is a hunting lodge situated above Osterspai in the Rhein-Lahn district (Rhineland-Palatinate). Although the small castle was originally built around 1590 for the Lords of Liebenstein, an architect from Boppard rebuilt it in the Neo-Renaissance style between 1873 and 1875.

The village of Filsen on the Rhine (in the Rhein-Lahn district of Rhineland-Palatinate) has an unusual town hall (known locally as the ‘Wachport’). It was apparently built in 1611 on the site of a former gate in the village’s fortifications.
