I usually feel the first #arxiv version is more important but getting this #quantumAlgorithm published has taught me a lot in the whole process and I'm glad it's finished 😄 It was written alone but now if I think about it it was so much influenced by so many #quantum people who were helping me make it better and comprehensible😛😂, THANKS🙏👏👏😁

@quantumjournal is fully #OpenAccess and waived the publishing fee (recommended 450 euro) because it's a single-author publication of a postdoc (requesting toi waive the fee has a dedicated box even in the submission form!) - speaking of journals supporting scientists #OpenScience 🖖

Double-bracket quantum algorithms for diagonalization

Marek Gluza, Quantum 8, 1316 (2024). This work proposes double-bracket iterations as a framework for obtaining diagonalizing quantum circuits. Their implementation on a quantum computer consists of interlacing evolutions genera…

Google and XPRIZE have launched a $5 million competition to find practical uses for quantum computers, aiming to benefit society. Researchers must develop new quantum algorithms to address real-world problems, with judging criteria including impact, alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals, and feasibility on current or near-future hardware.

The competition spans three years, with a $3 million grand prize split among up to three winners, $1 million for up to five runners-up, and $50,000 for each of the 20 semi-finalists. The initiative seeks to shift focus from technical demonstrations to tangible applications, though challenges remain in understanding quantum computing's complexities.
