My highway transponder recently stopped working, two weeks past its warranty. I thought that it must have a battery... opened it, and the battery was soldered onto the circuit board. On YouTube, people showed how to desolder and resolder the battery, and where to buy batteries with the pins at the right spots.

The #soldering was a lot of fun and I inaugurated the fixed device last weekend with a trip to the beach in Ericeira.
