Jeremy JongepierRunning 48 KHz and a 128 buffer size with FireWire was quite a challenge back then. Not only to get your system there but also to keep it there!
I was running #Qtractor at the time with some bounced tracks but my live vocals were routed through Qtractor to add some compression and reverb. And I used some soft synths plugins coupled with an Akai MPK Mini.

Eugenia LIs it just me or #QTractor is among the best DAWs? Everyone's using #LMMS for midi under #Linux, but I feel that QTractor is more flexible. It supports almost all kinds of plugin formats for one.
To get it running, you need to run the jack server (qjackctl) & Qsynth softsynth prior. Then create a new midi track, select an instrument, and create a new clip on it. Draw some (random?) midi notes in it. Hit play.

G M Slater@hearsepileup - While not subscription based, I have found that the Linux version of #Reaper is the best DAW to use (as a bonus, it handles Windows plugins run via yawbridge really wonderfully). Another option that works very well in Linux is #Ardour, but it is not nearly as intuitive. Finally, there is #QTractor, which I like quite a bit, but it is not as robust as Reaper and Ardour.
