#Languages is a predatory journal, isn't it?

In any case, the link for unsubscribing is dark. This means that I already unsubscribed from their requests.

The current request shows that they do not have a clue of what I am doing.

Ah, found it:

A Chinese ship type has been claimed to be among "traditional ships of the past Malay maritime civilisation", using the model of a "Foochow pole junk" in the National #MaritimeMuseum at Greenwich UK & misrepresenting it to be a Malay jong in a Jakarta museum. Serge Jardin & James Chin have called out the academics, their university, & the publisher.

'UPM's defence is a joke', says French historian on disputed academic paper

KUALA LUMPUR: The response by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in defending their academics alleged to have misrepresented facts about Malay maritime history has completely fallen flat and can be easily proven wrong, said French historian Serge Jardin.

So, 2 weeks is too little for a proper review and publishing process, but a paper every 37 hrs is a top-notch practice for #academia and universities? Because I fail to see the kind of criticism of Luque and his kind that emerged lately with the #MDPI... #publishorperish #publishing #predatorypublisher
#PredatoryReport strikes again and includes all #frontiersIn journals on their "list." With the same set of clear criteria, robust evidence, and assurance of no conflict of interest as they did with #MDPI... #OpenAccess #academia #predatorypublisher

Block #MDPI? Great, people will go to #Frontiers. Block them, and a new mass publisher will emerge within months. You're not fighting the cause; you're fighting the symptom. #publishorperish #OpenAccess #academia #predatory #predatorypublisher
Time and again, I see arguments that #MDPI is #predatory because it publishes hundreds of thousands of papers. I urge anyone who claims this to look at how many papers researchers publish annually in their field. Then multiply that by the number of researchers. MDPI's volume is not the cause; it is a symptom of a #publishorperish culture #openaccess #academia #predatorypublisher
