The networks on the fediverse can be so easily shredded. I think we should all do our part to mend them.

CJ gave chase, a futile effort but needful.
She ran into them returning, muddy & maybe a bit bloody. Encatment & Sorcatty each held their jaws carefully around something which could have been a black bean.
Necrokitcy, however, was holding a tiny living plant.
CJ wondered if Paz would be thrilled or horrified.
"Three black beans," Paz complained. "I've been working on this brew for weeks and it won't take anything else. And is there a single black bean in this city?"
CJ couldn't help herself. "Have you tried looking for a beanstalk?"
"Ha. Ha. Just what we need, giants. No, really, can you set your Irregulars on this?"
"They're not mine. If anything, they're Sen's. But I'll see what I can do. 3 black beans - shit!"

"Just sparkles."
"Given our current situation, I'm not even sure anyone will notice the sparkles." Paz tossed in the final ingredient, a scant 1/8 teaspoon of powdered Scotch Bonnet. "There. Ten minutes on the flame and we're all good to go for another few days."
She didn't say "if this goes on longer than that we've got bigger problems". She didn't need to.
She stirred her potion, chewed on a stale coffee bean, and hoped it would be enough.
There was a blanket up here, where Paz liked to watch the stars.
Sorcatty, the biggest of her three cats, put his paws on her chest and pushed. Encatment twisted between her legs.
She sat down with an awkward thump and laughed as Necrokitcy climbed onto her lap.
"A cat-nap it is, then," she agreed ruefully. "Since it seems I have no choice."
As she lay down, Encatment curled up next to her head and purred.
