In the meantime, I have foregone the predictable leap to North By Northwest, since I was thinking about Hitchcock, and am setting my sights on clearing out a Stallone movie that I haven't seen in years.

It’s fucking epic. If you haven’t seen it, fix that ASAP.

I bought it on the Apple Store after seeing it in the cinema. Twice, if I recall correctly. I rated it 10/10.

The whole cast is brilliant, but Ella Bruccoleri was a revelation!

London; teenage angst; clashes with parents; pride; rebellion; and a wedding.

One might expect #PoliteSociety (2023) to be Bend It Like Beckham but with Pakistani heritage and Islam instead of Punjabi heritage and Sikhism.

It is so not.

I can almost hear one of the characters saying: "We've got all that as a premise, yeah. But we is going BOLLYWOOD on it, bruv!".

The favourable reviews that it got (which I went and looked up afterwards, as this is another movie in the TiVo that I'd never seen before) are not wrong.

It is not quite on the 3-hours-long dance-numbers-with-a-cast-of-hundreds scale of #Bollywood; but it packs in kung fu, Bond-style villainy, cat burglary, a heist, the aforementioned wedding, and double geography.

What on Earth am I going to find on the TiVo's list of stuff that I need to watch and clear out, to follow it?
