The illumination of hidden fears. The price of stagnancy.

A wise woman once said that to know your shadow is to befriend the darkest entities. How we view that which is ‘evil’ is also an expression of how we view those ‘unacceptable’ parts of ourselves.

I was watching a podcast episode recently on the Sumerian goddess Inanna, whose identity is often reduced to that of simply a love and fertility deity. In the myths involving Inanna, she descends into the underworld and is reborn upon her return. This story of descent and rising, of darkness and light, has traditionally been seen as an aspect of the feminine. Only in recent history, have these legends been retold through the eyes of man, reduced to tales where the final outcome is prioritized over the journey itself.

Remember that when you allow yourself to descend to your lowest, you are engaging in a revolutionary act that defies the very notion of patriarchal control. The dark is the space of ultimate evolution, of limitless possibility. Those who demonize its pursuit seek to demonize the soul’s journey.

Life cannot exist without the process of descent. Awaken your fears and you too shall flourish.

The ingress of a planet from the sign of Pisces to the sign of Aries can be rather jarring, verging on the upsetting. The end collides with the beginning. Something new emerges. Such is the endless dance of the universe we silly little humans find ourselves caught between.

This awareness and connectedness to the bigger picture is daunting. It reminds us that the choices we make are but one aspect of something much grander. how can we become worthy enough to participate in the divine cosmic scheme? Will we ever be able to surpass the insignificant lives we live to become gods ourselves? There is no simple yes or no answer to such questions, only a feeling. Can you feel this feeling? Does the stirring of the earth slowly being released from the confines of winter so awaken a yearning spark within you?

When things feel too big, remember to start with the real tangible people around you. Build community. Find belonging. Spend time with those who really SEE you. Expanded realms only become available through our understanding of the other.
