This is why you need to treat your employees as well as possible. This is why you need to treat others as you would want to be treated. This is why you need to have empathy and care about others. Otherwise they’ll laugh as you step on a rake.
Why am I writing this? Because I need to vent. Oh – it’s also hilarious watching others who _think_ they are superior continue to step on the rakes they left in their yard.
Now that I am 3/4 of the way out the door (and on PTO through New Years) they are freaking out. It is pure chaos. Customers are pissed. Work isn’t getting done and it won’t get done when I’m gone.
Management should have approached my Manager and partner when he announced his resignation to discuss options and make plans. They didn’t.
Management should have thought about approaching me in November to work on a plan to rebuild the practice and give me direct agency and resources. They didn’t.
At no point prior to last week has Management approached me to discuss a transition plan.
Back in October my Manager and partner announced his resignation. He stated that his last day would be November 30. Approximately two weeks later I announced my resignation and indicated that I am willing to work through the first week in January.
