miR-203 secreted in extracellular vesicles mediates the communication between neural crest and placode cells required for trigeminal ganglia formation
Intercellular communication between neural crest cells and placode cells is critical for the formation of trigeminal ganglion during development. This study reveals that miR-203 from neural crest cells is selectively secreted in extracellular vesicles and mediates this communication, as it is taken up by placode cells and regulates their condensation.
