dragfyreI haven't had a lot of spare time for big projects lately (sorry #Pinetta). But with the little spare time that I do have, I've been puttering with a little idea for a daily word-guessing puzzle game to be deployed on #Gemini (the #smolweb protocol, not the AI). I've actually got a proof-of-concept going with most of the gameplay basics working, and it seems pretty fun. The bulk of the work that remains is editing the clues for grammar, which is not so fun, but hey, gotta do it. :P
To be honest, the problem is a lot more pronounced with media sharing than with microblogging. I wonder if that's one reason why there's been a lot more proliferation of microblogging sites on Fedi versus media sharing sites - running your own instance involves a greater investment to handle streaming and storage.
Media storage is going to be an issue for #Pinetta too; it's a can that we've been kicking down the road for a while now.

Il semblerait que #Pinry soit au point mort (même si utilisable en l'état). Par contre, même si en "stand by" depuis quelques mois, #Pinetta promet lui la fédération 🤓

BTW: No, it's not dead (#Pinetta that is). Had a long hiatus due to IRL business, and since this is more or less at the level of a hobby project for me, it got shifted to the back burner. A few other people are involved as of now, but all of us are busy. As well, one big problem for me is the lack of a good-quality dev environment: What I have right now is really best for puttering, and not much more. So, as we often say, watch this space. #fediDev
