tweaked the back last night. Still sore this morning, so some heat is to be applied to the area.
#pandemicbath to the rescue.
The view is a little foggy both inside and out.

What does a (Edit: $CAD600) pre-hung door look like you ask?
Well I just happen to have a specimen. ๐ฐ ๐ฐ
How the hell is stuff this basic, this expensive?? ๐ช
On the bright side, we are one step closer to #pandemicbath completion! Hopefully will get it installed by the end of the weekend.
*my memory hyperbolized the expense. lol apologies
the hardest thing to find was a curtain rod that fit the tub and space and didn't have four ceiling mounts!! (we just wanted it to open on one end at the taps. So we could pull it away from either the window or door side. Thank goodness we found this one!
We finally found it on Wayfair and it wasn't stupidly expensive and looks nice and is well made (excellent instructions!) #diy #home #oldHomes
MILESTONE in the #pandemicBath!!
I had a shower in our upstairs bath for the first time in at least 10 years?? We stopped using the old shower stall eons ago!
Tonight, after a 3hr install of the rod, we can officially have showers up here again!!!
There is still some trim, a door (long story), and small bath accessories needed but we are so close!!
I have never had a ceiling shower! ๐ฟ And above MY 185cm head!? LUXURY. The curtain hangs a little close to the body but I think I'll be ok.๐
This was the last time the bathtub was in the space! August 2021 just after we bought it and I lugged it up the stairs. It has been sitting jammed into a small landing at the top of the stairs waiting in its plastic and foam ever since!

Day 10 (month 5? ๐) #pandemicbath #pandemicproject2 update! Had to take off the door frame to get it in but HEY LOOK GUYS! The new bathtub ๐ fits!! Getting the final rough measurements so the plumber can come in and reorganize! Feeling like we are nearing the halfway mark!
The part I am most proud of, because I truly did it all myself, is the floor. Only half of it was actually the original flooring. We got additional new fir tongue and groove in December 2021 which I installed and sanded/finished.
You can scroll through the original thread to see the state of the old floor and bath. The next biggest change, done by pros, was making the window larger and adding the skylight (which we actually did way back in 2017!)

IT FINALLY HAPPENED! Three years after starting the #pandemicBath reno, we have all the fixtures in and they look great!!
Last jobs are to put the door on (couldn't because the tub had to fit through frame), trim around the skylight, a blind for the window, and curtain rod above the tub! Should only be a couple more years! ๐

#pandemicproject2 has begun! As we start another year of this stupid and horrendous pandemic, it is time to begin another distraction campaign. Finishing the long unfinished upstairs bathroom! Weโll see if it turns out as well as #pandemicpond
