Dismal Manor 0640R Thursday — the gang is all up. Rocky rang the Chuck wagon bell at 0600. Dismal Butler grudgingly awoke and served our boar flavored pellets en gruel and gave us cold stale waffle quarters left over from waffle Wednesday.

Missy is out for some garden kip time. Rocky has been out for a dash and splash. DW is contemplating a return to bed but suspects cranky sinuses will frustrate additional sleep.

Thursday night there was a red alert and lots of barking up a tree as a menacing opossum was detected and escorted to — shed undercroft where possums but not greyhounds fit.

Missy has elected to patrol. Staff installed her winter rain coat and she’s out checking on the possum and doing girl-dog things. So far, all’s quiet on the western front.

Rocky is in post-brekkie kip mode.

DW is somewhat awake (woke?) with Robitusin DM hangover after sleeping 4 hours or so in (on) the somewhat bigger bed. Rocky wisely sleep in en-suite man cave.

Ahoy and happy #BoxingDay. The excitement is palpable at Dismal Manor as we rummage through the garden looking for that special soggy dead toy or squirrel pelt we have saved for staff’s Boxing Day. Rocky held reveille at 0530. Minion put up token resistance not sent Rocky out for a dash and splash or is it splash and dash before feeding us at 0615. While Rocky was out, I was given the jersey jar crumbs with my tea!
