La Svizzera intende chiedere all’Italia il rimborso delle spese sanitarie sostenute dall’ospedale di Sion per il ricovero di tre ragazzi italiani rimasti feriti nel rogo del locale Le Constellation a Crans Montana. È quanto emerso dall’incontro di questo pomeriggio tra l’ambasciatore italiano a Berna Gian Lorenzo Cornado e il presidente del Cantone del Vallese Mathias Reynard che ha riferito di non avere margini, dal punto di vista normativo, per farsi carico delle spese. “L’Italia non pagherà le spese sanitarie per i feriti di Crans-Montana, di cui la Svizzera ha intenzione di chiedere il rimborso”, fa sapere l’ambasciatore italiano a Berna dopo l’incontro. Sulla stessa linea il ministro degli Esteri: “Mi pare che sia ovvio che non pagheremo”, ha commentato Antonio Tajani.
La mutua svizzera, secondo quanto si apprende, chiederà all’Italia il rimborso di 100 mila franchi (108 mila euro circa). “Il nostro Paese si è fatto carico per settimane della cura di due cittadini svizzeri all’Ospedale Niguarda di Milano e la protezione civile della Valle d’Aosta ha partecipato ai soccorsi con un proprio elicottero nelle prime ore della tragedia: c’è un principio di reciprocità che va rispettato”, replica Gian Lorenzo Cornado. “La responsabilità è soltanto di chi gestiva il locale e di chi non ha fatto fare i controlli“, ha affermato il ministro Tajani: “Non c’è alcuna responsabilità italiana – ha aggiunto – devono pagare gli svizzeri“.
Nei giorni scorsi aveva provocato numerose polemiche la notizia delle fatture degli ospedali svizzeri recapitate ai familiari dei ragazzi coinvolti nel rogo. Conti dettagliati, inviati via mail, relativi alle prime ore di ricovero in strutture come quella di Sion, dove i ragazzi furono soccorsi prima del trasferimento in Italia. Nel rogo del Constellation la notte di Capodanno il devastante incendio provocò 41 morti – tra cui sei italiani – e oltre 100 feriti. Alcuni gravissimi e con un percorso di cura ancora molto lungo.

Switzerland intends to ask Italy for reimbursement of the healthcare costs incurred by the hospital in Sion for the treatment of three Italian teenagers who were injured in the fire at the Le Constellation venue in Crans Montana. This emerged from this afternoon’s meeting between Italian Ambassador to Bern Gian Lorenzo Cornado and the President of the Canton of Valais Mathias Reynard, who stated that he had no legal margins to take on the costs. “Italy will not pay for the healthcare costs for the victims of Crans-Montana, of which Switzerland intends to request reimbursement,” the Italian ambassador in Bern said after the meeting. The same line was taken by the Foreign Minister: “It seems obvious that we will not pay,” commented Antonio Tajani.
The Swiss mutual insurance company, according to what is learned, will ask Italy for reimbursement of 100,000 francs (approximately 108,000 euros). “Our country has taken care of two Swiss citizens at the Niguarda Hospital in Milan for weeks and the Civil Protection of the Valle d’Aosta participated in the rescue efforts with its own helicopter in the early hours of the tragedy: there is a principle of reciprocity that must be respected,” replied Gian Lorenzo Cornado. “The responsibility is only of those who managed the venue and of those who did not make the checks,” stated Minister Tajani: “There is no Italian responsibility – he added – the Swiss must pay.”
In recent days, the news of the invoices from Swiss hospitals sent to the families of the teenagers involved in the fire had provoked numerous polemics. Detailed accounts, sent by email, relating to the first hours of hospitalization in facilities such as that in Sion, where the teenagers were rescued before being transferred to Italy. In the fire at the Constellation on New Year's Eve, the devastating fire caused 41 deaths – including six Italians – and over 100 injuries. Some very serious with a treatment path that is still very long.
