The wild dog was my reason for planning the Botswana trip. I had lived in Africa for 13 years in the 70s and 80s but never seen this animal and I wanted to photograh them.

These animals are an endangered species of wild dog from sub-Saharan Africa. They may look more like hyenas, but they're more closely related to jackals and wolves! their threats are in a link here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_wild_dog#Threats
