The family of meerkats outside of Jack's Camp at the Makgadikgadi salt pans in Botswana have been habituated to human presence, and allow you to follow along with them on their morning grub hunts. Not exactly sure how I feel about the habituation, which was originally done to be able to research them, but is now clearly continued mostly to attract tourists. But it was certainly an amazing experience to have these adorably creatures dash around your legs as they scan danger and dig for bugs, with the young ones chittering away begging for the booty. #wildlife #wildlifephotography #botswana #meerkat

From Windhoek to Livingstone — across Namibia, through the Caprivi Strip, into Botswana, and finally Zambia.

A long journey on an Intercape double-decker, crossing 4 border posts, switching to a shuttle in Katima, and even passing through Chobe National Park where a group of elephants crossed the road right in front of us 🐘

After everything that happened in Windhoek, this trip felt different. Losing my phone and all my photos still hurts — but I’m grateful I made it safely.

Now it’s time to slow down, rest, and get things sorted again.
